No, and it never will. Typing, saving, organizing, importing, and exporting are free and unmetered, and the editor does not even need an account. Credits pay only for deliberate AI moments you choose: a chapter check, a review of changed pages, a full-manuscript review, a directed scene. The cost is shown before anything runs.
How does checking fit a four-books-a-year schedule?
It fits because it runs on your schedule, not in your way. Check each chapter as you finish it, run Review changes to cover only the pages that changed since their last check, and run one full review before you upload. Nothing interrupts drafting, which is where your release schedule is actually won.
What does Director Mode add for a rapid-release author?
Drafting speed that does not cost you canon. You direct a scene in plain language, Bunsho answers with a beat sheet checked against your book before any prose exists, and only after you approve it does one voice write the scene as suggested blocks in your editor. It never invents plot, and everything lands one undo away.
