Upgrade or change your plan

Subscribe, upgrade now, schedule a downgrade, or buy a credit pack, all from Settings.

Updated October 15, 2026

Open the plans

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the binder.
  2. Choose Upgrade plan, View all plans or Buy credits. Each one opens Settings, Billing. You can also open Settings yourself (⌘, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows) and choose Billing.

You need to be signed in. If you are not, the section shows a Sign in button first.

Subscribe for the first time

  1. On the plan you want, click Subscribe.
  2. Your web browser opens a secure checkout page run by Polar. Pay there.
  3. Come back to Bunsho. Your credits appear in Billing when you return.

Bunsho never asks for your card details inside the app.

Move to a higher plan

  1. On the higher plan, click Switch plan.
  2. Read the message "Upgrade to ...?". It says your card is charged the difference for the rest of this billing period, then the monthly price.
  3. Click Upgrade and pay now. Your new credits appear once the payment clears.

Move to a lower plan

  1. On the lower plan, click Switch plan.
  2. Read the message "Switch to ...?". You stay on your current plan until the billing period ends, and keep the credits you have. Nothing is charged today.
  3. Click Schedule the switch.

The new plan card shows Scheduled, with the date it starts. Changed your mind? Click Cancel in the message before you confirm.

Buy extra credits

Click Buy credits on the Credit pack card. It is a one-time purchase and the credits never expire. You need a plan to buy a pack. Until then the button reads Needs a plan.

Update your card or see invoices

Click Manage on your current plan. Your browser opens your subscription page on Polar, where you can change your card and see invoices.

Tip:If you see "Couldn't reach billing, your plan is unchanged.", nothing was changed. Try again in a moment.
