What to do when you run out of credits
Checks and Director pause, nothing is lost, and you can top up from Billing.
Updated October 15, 2026
Running out of credits only stops checks and Director. You can keep writing as much as you like.
What you see
- In the continuity panel, an Out of credits card says "Your existing issues are preserved, nothing was cleared." If a review was running, it also tells you where it stopped.
- In Director, an Out of credits note says what the scene needs, then "Nothing was charged. The card stays as it is."
- Before a check, a price that is more than your balance shows Not enough credits.
- In Billing, a low balance shows "Running low, top up below to keep writing." and an empty one says you are out of credits.
What to do
- Click Open billing on the card. Or open Settings and choose Billing.
- Choose one: click Buy credits on the Credit pack card for extra credits, or move to a bigger plan with Switch plan.
- Run your check again. Credits from a plan upgrade appear once the payment clears.
Tip:Plan credits reset when your billing period renews. Billing shows "Resets in ... days" under your balance.
Nothing you have written is affected, and issues you already found stay in the panel.
