Cancel your subscription
Cancel from Settings. You keep your plan until the period ends, and your books stay on your computer.
Updated October 15, 2026
- Open Settings (⌘, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows) and choose Billing.
- On your current plan (it says Current plan), click Manage.
- Your web browser opens your subscription page on Polar. Cancel there.
What happens next
- Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. Billing shows a line such as "You're on Storyteller" with the date it ends, and "Your credits stay until then."
- Unused plan credits end with that period. Extra credits from a Credit pack stay on your account.
- After that, your account moves to the free level.
Your books
Cancelling does not touch your books. They are ordinary files on your computer, and you can keep opening, writing and exporting them. See Where your files live.
