I cannot sign in
What to do when the sign-in window never finishes or says sign-in did not complete.
Updated October 15, 2026
You select Sign in, but Bunsho stays signed out, or your browser shows Sign-in didn't complete.
Why it happens
Bunsho opens your web browser so you can sign in with Google, then hands the result back to the app. If the browser tab is closed early, takes too long, or something blocks it from reaching the app, the sign-in stops. Your writing never needs an account, so you can keep writing while you sort this out.
Fix it
- Close the sign-in browser tab, return to Bunsho, and select Sign in again.
- Finish the Google steps quickly. Bunsho waits about 2 minutes for you.
- When the browser says You're signed in., close the tab and go back to Bunsho.
- If your browser did not open, set a default browser in your computer settings and try again.
- On Windows, if a Windows Firewall prompt appears, allow it. Bunsho needs it to receive the sign-in result.
- Check your internet connection, and turn off any VPN or ad blocker that might interrupt the sign-in page.
- Quit Bunsho completely, open it again, and sign in once more.
Tip:Checks need you to be signed in. If a check says Sign in to review your manuscript., sign in and run it again.
