Review only what you changed

After you edit, check just the chapters that changed since your last check, instead of the whole book.

Updated October 15, 2026

Once a book has been checked, you do not have to check all of it again after each edit. Review changes checks only the chapters that changed since their last check.

Spot that something changed

Bunsho tracks this on your computer for free. You will see it in two places:

  • A small note above your chapter, such as the number of words since your last check, with a Review changes button.
  • A row at the top of the Continuity tab, such as 2 chapters have changed since your last check, with a button like Review 2 changed chapters.

Run it

  1. Open the Continuity tab.
  2. Find the row about changed chapters. Check the cost on the button.
  3. Click Review N changed chapters.
  4. Watch the status line at the top of the tab while it works. New findings appear in the list when it is done.
Tip:The row may also tell you how many chapters have not been checked yet, or how many days it has been since your last check. The little x on that kind of reminder hides it. Hiding it costs nothing and checks nothing.

Check canon

If you change the facts you have declared true in the World tab, the tab may show Your canon changed since the book was last checked against it with a Check canon button and its price. It is optional.

One chapter instead

To check just the chapter you are in, use Check a chapter.
